This story follows the beginning of an adventure at home and school featuring Charlie Bone, the boy who can hear people in photographs talking. A very interesting talent. He is sent to the new school where we meets others who are also 'endowed' with special talents like him.
It’s kind of like Harry Potter, with similar aspects. But targeted for the much younger audience.
The story begins at a fast pace, instantly introducing Charlie and him discovering his power in the first chapter. I found it was very fast paced and seemed to be over in the blink of an eye. It’s a very easy read. I found the book at some points quite predictable but it can have its fun moments. I do however wish that the ‘endowed’ at the school had different subjects than just do homework in a different room. I just wanted more of them, and describe some of the things that they can do rather than just mention it in a single phrase.
But I understand it’s just the first book and I will continue reading the series. Do I recommend it? Sure go for it if you want. Just remember that this book is meant for the younger audience.
