The Hunger Games is a book about a game that takes place in Panem where there is one big place called the Capitol and there are 12 districts surrounding it.  The book begins in district 12. Katniss (a tribute) goes hunting with her friend Gail. After that they head to the place where the tributes are picked. Katniss’s sister Primrose Everdeen is called but Katniss who is 16 won’t let her sister be a tribute, so she volunteers as a tribute. The second person who gets picked is Peeta Mellark who is the baker’s son and the same age as Katniss. Two tributes from each district (1-12) are chosen - a boy and girl between the ages of 12-18. They take a train and get trained at the Capitol and are both put in to an arena and have to kill each other. Only 2 people are allowed to win the hunger games every time someone dies there is a cannon that gets shot into the sky with a picture of the faces of the person who died. When Katniss and Peeta are in the interview before they go into the battle arena Peeta say he has a crush on Katniss which makes them start being a “couple” in the arena.

Book rate: I think it has 10/10 rating.
